In the years leading up to the coming of the Messiah, time and circumstance conspired with human tendency, resulting in an utter neglect of the promise of trans-national blessing and a continually narrowing focus on Jewish nationalism and its accompanying identity markers.
The growing importance of identity markers prepared both Jews and Gentiles for the Messianic confrontation and the unveiling of the mystery of Jews and Gentiles as brothers and sisters in Messiah.
